Welcome to the computer lab and technology center. The computer lab has 28 networked Macintosh computers, a projector for full class instruction and a variety of printers. This year ECE - 5th grade students will learn everything about publishing quality products on computers. In collaboration with classroom teachers, the teacher will use technology and computers to incorporate classroom learning for presentations and projects. Students will learn a variety of computer programs including:

• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Power Point
• Microsoft Excel
• Kid Pix
• Kidspiration and Inspiration
  
• Online Databases
• L.I.O.N. - the Denver Public Schools online library catalog
• Internet protocol for research and online activities

The computer lab will also be used to incorporate math, science and language arts into computer projects.

Students will also be producing student news with the use of video cameras and iMovie. All students will be involved in the news. Some 3rd - 5th grade students will be taught to use video cameras, delve into elements of film production and editing. This exciting activity will provide students with another opportunity to improve and use reading and writing skills. Younger students will be involved through interviews and school activities.

Parents are welcome in the computer lab. The technology teacher will be glad to help prepare resumes, provide instruction for online research and a variety of other services.
