My name is Ana Salas. I was born and raised in Mexico where I went to college and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. It was when I became a mother that I discovered my passion for the education of children. For this reason I decided to be a teacher to help young children to develop a love of learning. I taught kindergarten for the past two years and I have experience as a preschool teacher as well. I am enrolled in a program at Metropolitan State University to get a graduate degree in Elementary Education. I am very happy to join the Stedman community as a 1st grade Spanish Immersion teacher and as a parent. I am married to a wonderful man and we have two daughters. We love spending time together as a family.

I am Mexican. I was born in Mexico City. I have a beautiful family–our son Alejandro graduated this July from the University of Mexico and our daughter Alondra just started her degree at the same campus! You may know my wife, Ms. Samantha, who also works at Stedman.

My undergrad studies were in Opera Singing at UNAM.  In Mexico I taught for 14 years as a fine arts teacher with learners from Kindergarten to 9th grade. My teaching area included choral conducting, and I was fortunate to direct children’s choirs that performed at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.

My hobbies include making musical instruments, running, and maintaining aquariums with fish and axolotls. Currently I have six axolotls of different colors!  Thank you for trusting me with your treasures. I look forward to growing together.
