I have been teaching for many years in bilingual settings in both general and special education in Arizona, Mexico, and Colorado, joining the Stedman community in 2016. I coach learners of all ages in setting goals and using precise progress monitoring so they can reach them! Some of my favorite teaching tools are direct instruction, fluency timings, and precision teaching. I also love spending time with my family (cooking and eating) and with my animals.
My name is William Vega-Berben. I am so proud of being part of the Stedman family. I will be working as a 4th/5th grade immersion teacher as well as a STL. I am really looking forward to supporting your child as we navigate this new learning experience this year.
Here’s a little bit about me; I am starting my 18th year of teaching, 9 of which have been in the elementary school setting. I began teaching in Colombia (my home country), North Carolina and moved to Denver to teach 6 years ago. The majority of my career has been spent working in fourth and fifth grades focusing on literacy, ESL, and dual language teaching for the past nine years. Most recently, I have been working toward my PhD in Bilingual education at New Mexico State University. I am the proud father of two Juniors, Geronimo and Aryana, who love soccer and dream of becoming architects. Our family enjoys adventuring together during our down time.
Hello! My name is Zuri Hunter-Riley. This is my second year on team Stedman, but my 6th year at DPS. I’m married to my wonderful husband of 2 years, and I have a 9 month old baby girl. I earned a Master’s degree from University of Colorado Denver last December 2022. In my spare time, I make it my mission to do things that bring me joy like roller skating, reading paperback books, and shopping!
