Over the next few weeks, the office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) is hosting school-based conversations at elementary schools in the Greater Park Hill/Stapleton area focused on families of 3rd and 4th graders that will soon be making their middle school choices. During these meetings, FACE will seek to gather feedback on middle school program desires for the 2017-18 school year and beyond, and to discuss with families the pros and cons of the following options:
? increasing the size of McAuliffe at Smiley to approximately 400 students per grade level (1,200 students total across three grades); or
? having McAuliffe operate with 250 students per grade (750 total students across three grades) and opening a new middle school with 150 students per grade (450 total students across three grades) in fall 2017 to share the Smiley campus with McAuliffe.
